Download audiobooks, eBooks & more from Woodlands Downloadable Library
Requirements:
1) A valid library card from the Mendon Township Library
2) A personal computer or laptop
3) Download free Overdrive Media Console software (available from the above link)
4) Download free Adobe Digital Editions (available from the above link)
Here are the directions to get you started:
1. You will need your library card number. If you do not have a current library card or know your number, please contact the library at 496-4865.
2. Download the appropriate free software from the Woodlands website by clicking the above link. On the left side of the screen, look for the section "Download Software". You must download both programs to your computer in order (first Overdrive Media Console, then Adobe Digital Editions). You MUST follow all on-screen prompts.
Now you can proceed to browse and check out items!
Sign in to your account:
1. On the Woodlands website, click "Sign In" on right side of screen and select "Mendon Township Library" from the pop-up list.
2. Enter your library card number where prompted, then click "Sign In". You will be directed to your download account.
Browse:
1. Browse titles by clicking on any of the links to the left side of the screen (please note there are different links for audiobooks and eBooks)
2. Search by title, subject, author, or format using search feature at top of screen.
Check out:
1. Add selections to your 'Bookbag'. (NOTE: If a title is not available, you may place a hold. You'll receive an email when the title is available.)
2. Click on "Proceed to Checkout" link and follow on-screen instructions.
Download:
1. Click the "Download" button under each title to launch the appropriate software.
2. Once downloaded, enjoy immediately on your computer or transfer to a variety of devices, including eReaders, SmartPhones, MP3s, etc. For more information on supported devices or for additional information, visit the Overdrive website. http://www.overdrive.com
Transfer to mobile device:
After download, most titles can be transferred to a mobile device. Attach the appropriate cable from your computer to your device.
1. For audio and video, click the "Transfer" button in OverDrive Media Console to launch the Transfer Wizard and follow on-screen prompts.
2. For eBooks in Adobe Digital Editions, drag and drop the title onto the appropriate device name located on the left panel.
3. After transfer is complete, you may disconnect your device and enjoy your title on the go!
